|Master for Tonight II|
I need to fan myself off for a couple minutes before I start to write this review, because this book was almost too hot to handle. After reading the first book, Master for Tonight, I knew I had to get my hands on this book. I was extremely happy to find that this book picked up right where the first one left off. This book blew me away, it was so much better than I was ever expecting. Was the book perfect? No, but I still had a great time reading the book. I enjoyed this book even more than the first book. The character development was so much better in this book. Kate showed more sides to herself, and proved that she can kick butt when she needs to. By the end of this book, I was in love with every single character, minus the bad guys of course! Julian and Reese now hold special places in my heart. Reese and Mazzie were such a cute couple, I really did adore them.
"It all comes down to this: You are my home. You are the only place for me to be. I don't want anything else, but you, Mazzie."
I honestly think my Kindle was smoking during some of the scenes in this book. The passion and chemistry was off the charts in this book between both Kate and Julian and Reese and Mazzie. Here is a little look into one of these searing hot scenes:
"He pressed his lips against hers, and slowly, hers softened. Her chest melted against him, and his hands went into her hairline at her scalp. Gently easing his tongue inside her mouth, he tasted her sweetness again. He sucked on her tongue, out to the tip and then back again, meeting her lips with
his and filling himself with her."
It gets even hotter from there, but I won't spoil that for you! Besides having hot scenes, this book was also filled with some tender moments between the couples. This book had a lot more romance than the first one, and it made me one happy girl.
" "I love you, Kate Collins."
"What did you say?" he asked, not believing his ears. She had been adamant in the past about not making a permanent commitment to him.
"I said, Kate Montfort." She smiled up at him shyly.
"I don't want a church wedding. I don't want anything big. I just want to be yours, and you to be mine." "
This book had plenty of action, mystery, and suspense. I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning because I could not put the book down. I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen next! It was interesting to get to learn more about Evangeline. It is rare that an author will write multiple chapters from the POV of the villain, so I really enjoyed that unique treat. This book left on a cliffhanger, so I seriously hope to see another book in the future with Julian, Kate, Reese, and Mazzie. To quote Julian from the first book:
I really enjoyed this book a lot. It had everything I could want in a book. I hope Elaine Barris will write another book, because I will be extremely sad if I have to say goodbye to these characters for good. I recommend this series and this book to anyone looking for a hot erotica vampire romance.
