Silver Bastard (Silver Valley #1) by Joanna Wylde

Silver Bastard

Puck Redhouse is finally free after more than a year in prison. He kept his mouth shut and now he is a full member of the Silver Bastard MC. On the night of his release, he's ready to party and the best way is to drink and celebrate with a woman. After choosing one for the night, he has no idea she will create havoc in his life from then on.

Becca Jones has a terrible stepfather and her mother is nothing but evil too. When Puck enters her life he hurts her but also saves her in one night. Years later, Puck's still watching over her. She feels safe with him in town but she also fears him. She has feelings for him that she wishes she could forget. She wants a boring and a safe life and bikers will bring her neither. But, when she needs help keeping a bigger fear away she knows she can count on Puck, her "Batman", to protect her.

I have to mention how much I've enjoyed Joanna' MC stories. I like that we get to see recurring characters reappear and how they are still pretty much active and evolving. I love how Painter and Puck have created a friendship despite wearing different colors. I haven't been a Painter's fan but he has grown on me now.

Puck was definitely all alpha and what he wants he fights for. Once he realizes Becca is the woman he wants, he doesn't play any games. Becca did have a couple of TSTL but I can't blame her for them. It would be hard to leave family behind.

As for the secondary new characters, I like Blake and Danielle and I hope I get their story. I'm also intrigued by Rourke, Lola, Shane and Piper.
I can't wait for the next book in this series and for Painter's book.

Cliffhanger: No
