If I Were You (Inside Out #1) by Lisa Renee Jones

If I Were You
Sara McMillan is an English teacher, but she wishes for more in her life. When her friend discovers some diaries in a storage facility written by a woman name Rebecca, Sarah knows this is something she needs to explore.
Sarah finds out that Rebecca may be missing and decides to step into Rebecca's life.  Rebecca was working in the art gallery Allure as a Marketing Director.  Sara has a background in art and she decides to purchase a ticket for a black-tie charity event at Allure.  She is trying to dig some information from Rebecca's coworkers.
When she gets there she meets the first man that will impact her new life.  His name is Chris Merit, he is a famous painter.  He wears leather, is extremely handsome with green eyes, has a dragon tattoo and has a bike. The other man that she encounters is the gallery manager, Mark Compton.  Before the night is over, Mark offers her Rebecca's job and Sara takes it.  Soon she is entangled in between these two men. But she is falling for Chris.
Chris has many secrets.  One of them may be about Rebecca's disappearance.  When each man pulls her in opposite directions leaving this job behind may not be an option.

This book took me completely by surprise.  It was hinted about BDSM which I'm not a huge fan of.  If I were you had me from the first chapter.  I didn't feel uncomfortable once.  I'm a Chris supporter from his first book appearance.  He has some dark in him but instead of feeling like he's punishing Sara, he is more into trying to save each other.  There is no way you don't fall in love with Chris. I  did.
The book does end in a cliffy but since the second book is out it wasn't a problem.  Sara's curiosity leads her to live a new life full of surprises and with plenty of testosterone around.  It seems every male character in this book was an alpha but Chris and Mark were the most intense.  The mystery of Rebecca's disappearance is riveting. You can't wait to know what really happen and ask yourself who was the man that she loved? Is she dead or alive?

“You know, sweetheart, I know I'm fucked up. But if you think the guy trying to protect you instead of walk all over you is the one trying to run your life, you're just as fucked up as I am.”
