Synopsis
Being friends before becoming lovers makes for stronger relationships.
Aaron and Henrietta can certainly attest to this. It takes time to develop the kind of deep relationship each is in. Both are committed and fiercely loyal to a lover they each consider their best friend.
Then one night Aaron and Henri meet.
After a single conversation, neither can explain the profound connection they’re feeling. Is it intrigue? Lust? How can one chance meeting—one conversation–possibly have them questioning everything they ever believed about love?

________________________________________________________

Synopsis
Denial is a dangerous part of desire.
Aaron offers Henrietta a position at his business and she takes it—despite the intense connection they felt the day they met.
While neither can deny they’re feeling something, both are in committed relationships with someone they love profoundly. Neither would ever dream of acting on something that’s clearly just a physical attraction.
But sometimes your mind takes longer to accept what your heart already knows . . .
________________________________________________________

Synopsis
Their hearts have belonged to their significant others for years . . . and then they met each other.
Doing the right thing means cheating is not an option.
So it’s time to decide.
Should Aaron and Henri stay with the ones they love or take a chance on something so extraordinary it’s impossible to even explain—understand.
Making such a life-altering decision is truly scary.
But even more scary than that?
Regret.
Defining Love. Which is the forever kind?

“What about you? Anyone special in your life?”
The sweet smile fell for a moment, but she recovered quickly then nodded. The immense jealousy that gutted me so instantly not only surprised me but had me sitting up straight.
“Eddie,” she whispered then smiled, but it wasn’t as genuine as her earlier smile when she referred to Mia and me being perfect for each other. “We were friends for a long time, too, before anything happened.”
Unable to so much as force a smile, I stared at her silently. Of course she was spoken for. Of course someone had claimed her already, despite how young she was. In the short time I’d known her, I’d come to discover what an amazing young woman she was and how easy it felt to talk to her. She made me feel comfortable when I spilled my guts about all the aspirations I had for this business. And it was heartwarming to see the genuine enthusiasm not only when she spoke of her own goals for her future but when I spoke of mine.
Swallowing hard, I fought the unreasonable anger that she hadn’t mentioned her boyfriend before. She’d told me about everyone else in her life. Why had she left this out? “Is he back in California?”
Those sweet brows narrowed and she shook her head. “No. Edi’s my roommate.
The one you met today.”
It didn’t register at first. Then when it did, it still didn’t make sense to me. Surely I’d misunderstood. I stared at her, speechlessShe couldn’t be saying what I thought she was saying. Was she pulling my leg or did she misunderstand what I meant by someone special? But then her comment all but jumped at me. The one I’d been too inundated with jealousy to focus on earlier. We were friends for a long time, too, before anything happened.
What happened?
It was the burning question, but I couldn’t bring myself to ask, so instead I said the only thing that came to mind. “Oh. So you and Edi . . . are . . .?”
I couldn’t say it. It didn’t seem possible. I had nothing against the lifestyle, but I would’ve never believed Henri to be gay. I knew it was none of my business, but I would’ve thought Bea or Eileen might’ve at least mentioned it. I was still ready for her to laugh and say she got me, but she wasn’t even smiling now. Instead, she just offered a nod. “Yes, we are.”

About Sara Richardson
Sara Richardson grew up chasing adventure in Colorado's rugged mountains. She's climbed to the top of a 14,000-foot peak at midnight, swam through Class IV rapids, completed her wilderness first-aid certification, and spent seven days at a time tromping through the wilderness with a thirty-pound backpack strapped to her shoulders.
Eventually, Sara did the responsible thing and got an education in writing and journalism. After a brief stint in the corporate writing world, she stopped ignoring the voices in her head and started writing fiction. Now, she uses her experience as a mountain adventure guide to write stories that incorporate adventure with romance. Still indulging her adventurous spirit, Sara lives and plays in Colorado with her saint of a husband and two young sons.

Avery King flees to Aspen, Colorado after a very humiliating public break-up.  She’s a strong willed businesswoman and her father wants her to acquire a rundown mountain ranch so they can build a new resort on the land.  Avery doesn’t expect the owner, Bryce Walker, to be so stubborn… and hot!

Bryce Walker has a lot of demons in his past.  After losing his wife three years ago and spiraling out of control, he’s still trying to get his life back together.  When he meets Avery and figures out what she wants he doesn’t want anything to do with her.  The Walker Ranch has been in his family for years and he has no plans on selling it, no matter what the bank says.

LOVED. THIS. BOOK.

Avery and Bryce were both broken souls.  They had troubled pasts and were trying the best they could to navigate through the long term after effects.  When they meet each other it’s instant fireworks…. And not the good ones.  They are constantly at each other’s throats.

I also loved the small town feel to NO BETTER MAN.  The connected community is so fun to read.  Everyone is in everyone’s business but they are all their for each other.

I finished NO BETTER MAN in one sitting.  If you’re looking for a fun, sexy romance, pick up NO BETTER MAN.

Forbidden (Fallen Idols) by Savannah Rylan

Forbidden has a twist.
Trista Monroe is a member of the Fallen Idols Motorcycle Club. At one time she was a prospect like all the other members. Her father is the President of the MC but she is not treated any differently. She has worked hard to be a member. She can handle a gun like anyone else. To her the MC is her family.

Blaze Taylor has come back to town to join the MC as their new prospect. His father was one of the original founders. When he died, Blaze's family moved away. His father died protecting the MC and Blaze will now vow to do the same.

The first time Blaze meets Trista they had one night of passion which neither could forget but when they realize they are part of the same club, their relationship is forbidden.

~

This is a short novella.
Trista behaves like a true MC member. She's not scared to protect what is hers. She can ride and can shoot like the next guy. I like that she is loyal to the club. She has great camaraderie with the other members too.
I like Blaze so far but I want to know more about him. I know there is a mystery surrounding his father's death. We're still missing details.
When Trista and Blaze met you could feel their passion. There was a sense of rightness.
I don't think their relationship will be a secret for too long.

Cliffhanger: It's a serial -so in a way yes.

It was so much fun reading this book. Bryce is surrounded by great friends who are there to support him for whatever he needs them for.  Brooding Bryce was mysterious and I smile when he started to fall for Avery. I can almost imagine his smile. The ones that made Avery skip a heartbeat.
Avery got along with everyone. I liked her from the moment she was playing with his dog Moose. Despite growing up without a mother, she was down to earth and genuinely nice person.
I love Bryce's mom and her cooking. The brownies and cookies after the games make me want to be there to experience it myself.
I  can't wait for the next in the series after reading the little cameo at the end of the book.

Excerpt
Ah, hell. Not this. What was it with women, anyway? Why’d they have this burning desire to get to the bottom of absolutely every feeling they had? Why couldn’t they sit in silence, enjoy the scenery? “I don’t know you well enough to be upset with you,” he finally said, increasing his pressure on the gas pedal. The cops were notorious for pulling over speeders on this section through town, but tonight he was willing to risk it.
“Look.” Avery’s hands sliced the air in front of her. “I understand why you don’t want to sell. Trust me. I get it.”
Ha. Trust her. He didn’t trust her any more than he trusted her father. At the end of the day, she worked for the infamous Edward King. She might be smokin’ hot and nice, and, like she insisted, a good person, but she still had a job to do. He wouldn’t forget that.
Instead of answering, he leaned over and flicked on the radio. Nothing like a little Brad Paisley to tune out a woman.
Avery shot him a fiery look, topaz eyes blazing, lips thinned into a warning that tempted him to test her.
That didn’t help things. She looked even better when she got mad. His grip on the wheel tightened until his knuckles ached. Mom was right. He had to get out more. Start dating again. Any woman besides Avery King…
She hunched forward and fiddled with the radio until he could hardly hear Paisley. Fine. That was fine. Five more minutes and they’d be back at the ranch anyway. He’d be free of her.
“You need to listen to me, Bryce. Please.” She launched into yet another impassioned monologue about how selling the ranch could change his life.
Yeah, well. He’d had enough changes in his life over the last few years. So sue him if he wasn’t interested. She didn’t seem to pick up on his lack of concentration, though. She went on and on until he pulled the truck into the driveway and parked in front of the office.
“Are you listening to me?” She leaned over the console between them and got in his face, close enough that he could smell oranges, that he could trace the sexy curve of her upper lip with his tongue if he’d wanted to.
“Have you heard anything I’ve said?”
The throb started again, deep in his chest, invading his body until it occupied all of him.
“Seriously, Bryce this is—”
Screw it. He cupped his hand around the back of her head and roughly brought her lips to his, totally unprepared for the impact it would have. Shock waves coursed through him, unleashing a craving stronger than he’d ever felt.
Avery squeaked in surprise but he didn’t let up. Need thundered through him and it was a helluva lot louder than the logic he’d spent the last several hours beating into his thick skull. Her lips were soft and moist and everything he’d hungered for during the last three lonely years. He gentled a hand up into her hair. It felt like silk against his skin.
A small moan purred in her throat and her upper body relaxed, lips melding to his in a pulsating heat. She ran her hands up his chest, and that was all he needed. He bent forward, halfway over the console, gathering her closer, kissing her harder, deeper. If it wasn’t for that console, he’d pull her right into his lap…
“Wow. Just…wow,” she whispered against his lips.
He answered by parting her lips with his tongue. There. That’d take care of her chatting problem.
Avery gasped a sharp intake of air, her chest rising against his.
Taking it as an invitation, he commanded her with his lips, opening and closing them in a sensual rhythm. A dull ache resounded in his chest. God, he’d forgotten the depth of a kiss…
He shifted to get a better angle, more access, but that console…
She pulled back with a small smile, lips grazing his in a tease, then she pressed in again and proved that she could make out as well as she could talk.
A scratching sound scraped the window. Moose whined, then barked.
Great timing, as usual.
