Siren's Song (The Storm Siren Trilogy #3)
by Mary Weber

Nym and Draewulf prepare to face off in a battle destined to destroy more lives than it saves.

With the loss of Tulla still fresh in mind, Rasha’s fate unknown, and Lord Myles taken over by the dark ability, Nym and the few Bron soldiers rush to warn Cashlin’s queen. Only to discover it may already be too late for the monarch and her eerie kingdom. As the Luminescents are sifting through Nym’s past memories and the queen is reading into her future, Nym is given a choice of how to defeat Draewulf, but the cost may be more than she can bear. And even then there are no guarantees.

With that reality burrowing into her bones—along with the guilt of the lives she will sacrifice—Nym returns to her homeland of Faelen to raise an army of peasants through promises of freedom. But when the few friends she has left, along with the world and citizens she loves, are staring down the face of a monster and his undead army, will Nym summon every element her blood is capable of controlling . . . or surrender to a different strength—one of sacrifice?

Because in the end, death may be more merciful for them all.

Wow. What a fantastic ending! This book had everything I wanted. There was swoon worthy romance, action, character development, and world development. The plot of this book kept me on my toes the entire time. This book was fast paced and addictive.

Some fantasy aspect were explored more in this book, and I thought that was so interesting. The fantasy aspect of this book was so addicting. I could read about it for ages!

It is safe to say that Mary really nailed it with this book!

What I adored about this book was the fact that Nym and Eogan got to spent most of the book together. My shipper heart was so happy. What I really liked about their romance is that it wasn't perfect. They bickered and argued, but you can tell that they truly care for each other. Every argument was passionate, and I knew they never wanted to actually hurt each other. The tender moments they had together were so romantic that they melted my heart. They also shared some passionate kisses that I enjoyed a lot.

Mary definitely knows how to write a swoon worthy romance. *sigh*

I loved the character development Nym had. She always stayed true to herself, but she became a better version of herself. I always respected her courage, loyalty, and kindness. It was nice to see she still embraced those qualities in this book. She was dedicated to the people she loved, and would do anything to protect them. Nym was fierce!

In the first book, Nym was afraid of her powers and she had almost no confidence in herself. She eventually turned into a fierce woman who knew that she was freaking awesome. She learned to embrace her powers instead of being afraid of them. It was so wonderful to see her character come such a long way through these books.

The plot of this series finally came to a head in this book, and it was explosive! The Draewulf was fierce and cruel. He wasn't going to let anyone get in his way of his goal to conquer the kingdoms, and that really worried me. All of this tension kept building until one huge scene at the end of the book. It was freaking fantastic. I refused to put down my book during that part of the book. I NEEDED to know what was going to happen. Mary has an amazing talent with writing action scenes.

This book left me completely satisfied. I got an ending I was happy with, and I couldn't be more grateful. I could continue to read books about this world and these characters, but I am happy with how it left off. I would recommend this series to all fantasy lovers!

Mary Weber is an author that everyone should keep on their radar. I have a feeling she is going to be coming out with some more fantastic books.

Siren's Fury (The Storm Siren Trilogy #2)
by Mary Weber

"I thrust my hand toward the sky as my voice begs the Elemental inside me to waken and rise. But it's no use. The curse I've spent my entire life abhorring—the thing I trained so hard to control—no longer exists."

Nym has saved Faelen only to discover that Draewulf stole everything she valued. Now he’s destroyed her Elemental storm-summoning ability as well.

When Nym sneaks off with a host of delegates to Bron, Lord Myles offers her the chance for a new kind of power and the whispered hope that it may do more than simply defeat the monster she loathes. But the secrets the Bron people have kept concealed, along with the horrors Draewulf has developed, may require more than simply harnessing a darker ability.

They may require who she is.

Set against the stark metallic backdrop of the Bron kingdom, Nym is faced with the chance to change the future.

Or was that Draewulf’s plan for her all along?

After finishing the previous book in this series, I knew I needed to start this book ASAP. The previous book left me dying to figure out what was going to happen next. I am happy to report that this book was awesome! I actually enjoyed this book more than the first book in this series.

I was a little disappointed that the romance was kind of on the back burner in this book, but the other aspects of the book made up for that. This book was definitely more plot driver, which was really interesting. There were a lot of surprises throughout this book that kept me hooked. Nym had to deal with some intense issues in this book, which almost gave me anxiety. I was so worried about her and the people she loves! I wanted everyone to be okay!

Nym's fighter personality really shined in this book. She was determined to get what she wanted, and it was great to see that. It caused my heart to almost beat out of my chest with fear and excitement, but I ate it up. I was worried that she would turn into a really dark character, but I was happy that she stayed true to her compassionate self. She continues to try and do what is the best for the people she cares about.

As I said, the romance wasn't as prevalent in this book. However, there still were some romantic moments, and those moments were fantastic. Those scenes were some of my favorite parts of the book. I absolutely adore the couple in this book. I am hoping to see more romantic scenes in the next book!

I flew through this book. It was entertaining and addictive. I am so excited to see what the next book has in store for me!

Storm Siren (The Storm Siren Trilogy #1)
by Mary Weber

“I raise my chin as the buyers stare. Yes. Look. You don’t want me. Because, eventually, accidentally, I will destroy you.”

In a world at war, a slave girl’s lethal curse could become one kingdom’s weapon of salvation. If the curse—and the girl—can be controlled.

As a slave in the war-weary kingdom of Faelen, seventeen-year-old Nym isn’t merely devoid of rights, her Elemental kind are only born male and always killed at birth — meaning, she shouldn’t even exist.

Standing on the auction block beneath smoke-drenched mountains, Nym faces her fifteenth sell. But when her hood is removed and her storm-summoning killing curse revealed, Nym is snatched up by a court advisor and given a choice: be trained as the weapon Faelen needs to win the war, or be killed.

Choosing the former, Nym is unleashed into a world of politics, bizarre parties, and rumors of an evil more sinister than she’s being prepared to fight . . . not to mention the handsome trainer whose dark secrets lie behind a mysterious ability to calm every lightning strike she summons.

But what if she doesn’t want to be the weapon they’ve all been waiting for?

Set in a beautifully eclectic world of suspicion, super abilities, and monsters, Storm Siren is a story of power. And whoever controls that power will win.

I have been meaning to pick up this book for a while now, and I am glad I did! I had a fun time reading this book. This book was not like anything I have ever read before. The fantasy element was so unique, and I really enjoyed learning about that aspect. There was a lot to learn, but the author gave the information in a way that wasn't hard to wrap my mind around.

It took me a little while to get into this book. For some reason the book didn't grab me at first. It took some time, but I eventually got very invested in the book. It was really interesting to watch Nym try to learn how to control her powers. A lot of the book was focused on character development and court politics. The exciting action doesn't really come into play until the end. The action at the end was explosive! I blew through those pages.

There were a wide range of characters in this book, and I grew to love each character individually. I really sympathized with Nym. She was a strong female on the outside, but she was hurting on the inside. She carried around so much guilt, and I really felt bad for her. Nym was a very caring girl, and she always had the best intentions. I enjoyed watching her grown throughout this book, and I am excited to watch her grow even more throughout the series.

Another character that I really liked was Eogan. Eogan had a lot of dimensions to him, and I think that is why I liked him so much. There were so many layers to him, and I found each layer so interesting. His chemistry with Nym was palpable. I ship them so hard. Their relationship was the push-pull type of relationship that I eat up. I cannot wait to see their relationship develop even more in the next book.

This book was a unique fantasy novel that I thoroughly enjoyed. This book had everything I could ever want in a book: great character development, intense action, heart pounding romance, political intrigue, and interesting fantasy elements. I am so excited to pick up book two!
