Revelry by Kandi Steiner

Wren Ballard is trying to find herself.

She never expected to be divorced at twenty-seven, but now that the court date has passed, it’s official. The paperwork is final. Her feelings on it aren’t.

Spending the summer in a small mountain town outside Seattle is exactly what she needs. The peaceful scenery is a given, the cat with the croaky meow is a surprise, but the real kicker? A broody neighbor with nice arms, a strange reputation, and absolutely no interest in her.

Anderson Black is perfectly fine being lost.

He doesn’t care about the town’s new resident — he’s too busy fighting his own demons. But when he’s brought face to face with Wren, he can see her still-fresh wounds from a mile away. What he doesn’t see coming is his need to know who put them there — or his desperation to mend them.

Sometimes getting lost is the way to find yourself. Sometimes healing only adds a new scar. And sometimes the last place you expected to be is exactly where you find home.

Well, I guess I waited way too long to read this book because I should have known that Kandi Steiner would delivery a freaking story that is nothing short of perfection! I love that it's set in the Pacific Northwest because I feel like not enough books capture the beauty of the land, and I feel like this one did it justice.

Wren escapes to a cabin away from her family and ex-husband to get some peace and quiet while trying to figure out her life and while she's figuring out that life she meets a lot of pretty amazing people in the small community, one of them being Anderson. I love how everyone took her in almost instantly as one of their own. Momma Von was always available to offer advice or even just to lend an ear, while the rest of the crew helped get Wren out of the cabin here and there.

Now lets get to Anderson Black! He's broody, and curt, and wickedly sexy of course! He doesn't talk much and first, but as time passes he realizes he has a lot to say to Wren, they have a lot to say to each other as a matter of fact! They are each dealing the aftermath of life altering events and soon realize that they can lean on each other for comfort. I just love the way their relationship progressed. I even loved the ending, I felt like it wasn't overly dramatic and was super relatable.

This book was honestly everything I was hoping for. It had all the right components, relatable story, lovable characters, and a steamy romance! Steiner is becoming one of my must-read authors!
