On the Chase started off with a BANG, and I expect nothing less from Katie Ruggle! The beginning of this book was only a preview for how action-packed and intense the rest of the book was going to be. This book had so much action, intrigue, and mystery to keep me on the edge of my seat!
The main female character, Grace, was a witty and strong woman. I admired how much she cared about those around her and how she never wanted anyone to get hurt. She did get a bit whiny at times, which annoyed me, but I really liked her overall. Hugh was a snarky and charming man. He was a little too nosy at times, and honestly a little creepy, but I understood that he had good intentions...even it was strange. One of my favorite things about Hugh though was his sense of humor. He always had a funny remark and I loved his carefree attitude.
The romance between Grace and Hugh was steamy and so freaking funny. The banter between Grace and Hugh genuinely made me laugh out loud! The author did a great job at building the chemistry between them. They had some instant chemistry, but I loved that they tried ignoring it by taking jabs at each other.
Overall, this novel was full of suspense and sexy times! I would recommend this to anyone who loves romances fill with nail-biting action!
