In Safe Hands (Search and Rescue #4)
by Katie Ruggle

In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the Search & Rescue brotherhood. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder...

It's all come down to this...

Daisy Little has lived in agoraphobic terror for over eight years. Trapped within a prison of her own making, she watches time pass through her bedroom window. Daisy knows she'll never be a part of the world...until the day she becomes the sole witness of a terrible crime that may finally tear the Search and Rescue brotherhood apart for good.

If you are looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, then this is the book for you! Right from the first page, I was completely and totally hooked. The mystery from the previous books carried over into this and it became explosive in this book. It was great to see the characters from the other book all come together to solve the mystery that has been going on since book one. There were moments in this book where I honestly wanted to hide under the covers and close my eyes because I was so nervous. The suspense in this book nearly killed me, but in the best way possible.

The main character of this book, Daisy, was adorable. I thought she was a total sweetheart. There were moments where I wanted to shake some sense into her, but I feel like that happens with most characters. I liked that Daisy had some flaws because that made her more relatable for me. Chris was a fantastic male lead for this book. Chris was sexy, protective, smart, loyal, and just all around perfect. I loved how patient and understanding Chris was with Daisy. Chris never pushed Daisy or made her feel uncomfortable. The relationship between Chris and Daisy was a slow burn that was so delicious. I thought the author did a fantastic job at developing a believable and adorable romance. They were honestly the perfect couple!

One tiny issue I had with this book was POVs of the killer(s). Even though reading from that POV was interesting, it almost ruined the surprise of the mystery. This lead to some slower moments in the book because I was just waiting for the killer(s) to carry out their plotted missions that were discussed in previous chapters. However, it was still suspenseful reading about the main characters try and figure out the mystery, but I wish I wouldn't have known the identity of the killer(s).

Overall, I thought this was a great book and a wonderful ending to this series. With action around every corner and a heart stopping romance, this book is one that cannot be passed up!

4.5 / 5 Fangs
