This book gave me so many FEELS. This book was heart breaking and heart warming. My heart both died and came back to life while reading this book.

I would be laughing one moment, then crying, and then I would be swooning the next moment. If anyone saw me while I was reading this book, they probably thought I was going crazy. This book proves that Jennifer knowns how to write a book that you can get emotionally invested in. I applaud her for taking on a book with such a serious topic and handling it so well.

The characters in this book were so special and lovable. Rider and Mallory definitely have a special place in my heart now. What I loved about the characters was that they went on such incredible journeys. The character development in this book was fantastic, especially with Mallory. I loved that Mallory became a stronger person through out the book. She wasn't snarky or a physical fighter, but she was strong in her own way. Her journey was so incredible to see, especially due to the fact that she had such a dark past. Her anxiety and reaction to things felt true and believable. I have never experienced these things personally, but Mallory's reactions felt realistic and not forced. I had an easy time connecting to Mallory even though I have never been through what she has been through. I was rooting for her to get her happy ending.

Rider. Oh, Rider. He was so swoon worthy. I feel in love with him so quickly. He was protective, romantic, lovable, funny, and so much more. My only issue with him was how he handed his relationship with Mallory and another female character in the beginning of the book. I don't want to spoil anything, so I will just say that I wish Rider would have handled the situation sooner. I felt like he waited to long to handle it, and it ended up leading to unnecessary and predictable drama. It also made it seem like he was almost leading characters on. That aside, I really loved Rider.

There were so many lovable side characters in this book. I loved how Jennifer didn't focus just on romance in this book. There were strong friendships and family bonds present in this book, which I really appreciated. I would love to see some of the side characters in this book get their own book! I grew attached to so many of them. Jennifer knows how to write fantastic characters that you never want to let go of.

This book put me on an emotional roller coaster. I felt every single emotion possible. I do think this book could have been shorter, because some parts felt like they dragged on and there was nothing happening. I think this story could have been wrapped up in fewer pages. However, I still really enjoyed this book. Rider and Mallory are an adorable couple, and I hope Jennifer decides to visit them and their friends again in the future.

Mallory isn’t a mute, but with her past she’s learned that staying quiet is the best way to survive. It’s been four years since she was “rescued” by her wonderful adoptive parents, but she’s still struggling to find her voice. After four years of being homeschooled, with plans of attending college, she decides she wants to attend public school for her senior year. She doesn’t expect she’ll run into Rider, the boy who kept her safe when her life was a nightmare.

On the outside Rider has it all. He’s confident, good looking, and has great friends, but Mallory knows that even though he appears to be fine, Rider is struggling on the inside. As their feelings for each other rekindle, they slowly start to heal each other.

“My name is Mallory… Dodge.” I drew in a deep breath, speaking to no one. “And I like… I like reading. And I don’t like… I don’t like who I am.”

I devoured this book. I was reading standing up cleaning. I was reading unloading groceries. I was reading it while I put my daughter to bed. I loved this beautiful, complex story written by the phenomenal Jennifer L. Armentrout and I just couldn’t put it down until I finished.

What I love about Jennifer Armentrout is the way she makes her characters relatable. They have flaws, weaknesses and insecurities like everyone else. They aren’t even close to perfect and I think that’s important to make clear, especially to the younger audience.

THE PROBLEM WITH FOREVER is so much more than a story about a girl and a boy. It’s about growing up, about acceptance and healing. It’s about self-discovery and learning your worth. I will be recommending this story to anyone who reads YA, and anyone who doesn’t. It’s definitely a story that will stay with me for a very long time.
