Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

It took me years to start this series because I'd heard mixed reviews, but I finally did and was completely blown away! I wanted to slap myself when I realized what a creative and well thought out story this was.

Cinder is one of the best if not the best mechanics in New Beijing, not only that but she's a cyborg! That's exactly how she meets the prince of the Commonwealth. She's hired to fix his long time android. Through a series of events she becomes involved in the power struggle between the Commonwealth and the Lunars. Not only that but there's a disease that's killing humans, so when she finds out a vital piece of information it's her duty to intervene right?

This story is like none I've ever read before. There's the big struggle between the people of earth and the lunars, there's the mystery of her past, and there's also the attraction between her a Prince Kai all thrown into the mix. The cyborg aspect was just an added bonus! I absolutely loved the way the story unfolded! Such a creative tale, with a great mix of characters. A PERFECT beginning to a fantastic series! I cannot rave about it enough! This is a must read!
