Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

Nicola Yoon's writing in this book was flawless. I felt like Maddy was actually talking to me, and her feelings were palpable. I devoured this book in one sitting, and I could not put it down. This book consumed my life. I really loved how this book had pictures, graphs, emails, and other little unique things incorporated in the chapters. I thought it added a lot of charm to this book. It was a unique aspect that I thought made this book even more enjoyable.

I thought the main character, Maddy, was great. She was such a strong and loving character. Maddy cared about everyone, and she showed that with her actions throughout the book. I liked all of the book references she would make, and I also really liked how wise she seemed. Maddy was very diverse in the looks department, and I really appreciated that. I was rooting for her to get her happy ending this entire book. I just wanted her to be able to go outside and experience the life she so desperately wanted.

I don't know if words can express how much I loved Olly. He was just so cute! Everything he did made my heart feel like it was going to explode with rainbows. I enjoyed learning about him and his family life in this book. I also loved how protective he was of Maddy, and how it was so obvious that he cared deeply for her. The relationship between Maddy and Olly was just so freaking adorable. I couldn't help but fall in love with their relationship. I thought they were perfect for each other. All of their conversations managed to put a smile on my face and warm my heart. I also loved how hilarious Maddy and Olly were together. Their relationship just seemed so real.

I loved everything about this book, and it has become one of my all time favorite books. I cannot praise this book enough. I would love to see more of Olly and Maddy, but I was really happy with the ending of this book. This book was beautiful, and I would recommend it to everyone.

5 / 5 Fangs
