Landline by Rainbow Rowell

At first I was a little hesitant to read this book, because the plot did not seem as interesting as her other books. However, I decided to give this book a try since I loved Rainbow's other books. I am so glad I decided to read this book, because I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it! I did not like it as much as her other books, but it was still a very good book.

The characters Rainbow created were so well written, and they all developed wonderfully throughout the book. All of the characters had a special characteristic that made me love them. They all had flaws which made them seem extremely realistic. Overall, I really enjoyed the diverse cast of characters.

Rainbow also incorporated such well written humor throughout the book. I found myself laughing out loud numerous times. She is just a brilliant writer, and all of her books just continue to showcase that. The way Rainbow incorporated a magic telephone made this book have a magical feel to it, and it made this book such a unique contemporary romance. I thought the phone was a really interesting and enjoyable concept.

I really enjoyed how the book explored the idea of young love that blossoms into middle-aged marriage. I have never read a book about a couple who had been married for a long time, and I found that extremely refreshing. This book was full of heartbreak and hope, and I was completely addicted to it. When the book ended, I was definitely craving more. I wish the ending had a little more closure, but I still really liked it.

The book was also quirky and witty, and I think anyone who loves a good contemporary romance will enjoy this book! I am convinced that Rainbow can do no wrong!
