Gemma Henare is on a trip to Canada and on her last day she decides to attend a Halloween party. She's enjoying her freedom and she's embracing it wholeheartedly. At the party she meets Joshua. He is everything she wants for her last night before going back to New Zealand.
Joshua Miles is still figuring his future out when he meets Gemma. He immediately has a connection with her and after their night together he can't seem to forget it. A few weeks later he finds himself in New Zealand and in front of the girl he wants to get to know but, things can never be that easy....
I love the beginning of this book. Their first encounter was awesome but as the story progressed I found myself disappointed in the story especially with Gemma. Also, in some parts I felt like the story was dragging and becoming repetitive.
What upset me the most is that they both have sex with other people. Yes, they are not a "couple" when they do it but still there is nothing said about protection besides the pill. So she sleeps with her boyfriend, then sleeps with Joshua without a condom. Then Joshua sleeps with a girl 3 times, then he sleeps with Gemma, no condom. No mention that he used protection with Katy he dated when he was back in Canada
I liked Joshua. He left everything behind for Gemma. He had the courage to move to different country for the chance to get the girl. I thought he deserved better.
