Anna Whitt is turning sixteen when she learns she is more than just human. Anna is usually a quiet, shy girl trying to avoid attention. She knows she is weird. Her senses are all over developed. Her adopted mother loves her and Anna returns the feeling but she wishes she knew her parents too.  Her social life is almost null except for her best friend taking her places with him. When she meets Kaidan Rowe, the drummer of a famous band, she has an instant connection with him. He seems to have the same powers she has, except he's famous and can get any girl he wants.

My thoughts:

I love the cover of this book and I had wanted to read it for a while. Very happy I did. I was pulled to the story almost immediately. Mrs Higgins's premise of demons, fallen angels and Nephilim had a different twist to it.  I liked how Anna feels true temptation and she has a constant battle with it. I liked her relationship with her adoptive mother, Patti. She was awesome!
And I can't leave my review without talking about Kaidan, sweet dark Kaidan. He can't seem to stay away from Anna and protecting her despite the chaos it creates in his life. He was easy to fall in love with.
I need to read Sweet Peril right away.

Cliffhanger: Yes, it's a trilogy but both books are out.
