He is everywhere. He surrounds me, wends his way under my skin. I can’t escape his strength, his intensity, his presence.

I’m trapped.

There’s nowhere to run.

Nowhere to hide.

But even if I could escape... would I be strong enough to leave?

I needed something — something big — to get myself out of the rut I’d fallen into after the car accident that killed my sister. This sailing trip was meant only to mark a new chapter in my life. Until Ethan Williams stepped on board.

Ethan radiated confidence. His darkly handsome good looks and ocean-blue eyes mesmerized me. But it was the way he looked at me that drew me in. He wasn’t looking at my past or at my scars, but the real me behind all that baggage I was trying so hard to leave behind.

But Ethan had secrets—dark, dangerous secrets. I was trapped in the middle of the ocean in a tangle of lies, sex, and violence. The problem was, I was happy to be trapped forever...if it meant I could have him.

A great start to the four part serial.

Tara has been through so much in her life. First she lost her parents, then her sister and more recently she was caught up in an armed robbery. Can this girl catch a break?  No longer wanting anxiety to rule her life or her limp to hold her back, she sets out for some adventure. She joins her best friend, Kyle. and three other crew members, on a three week sailing trip from Los Angeles to Hawaii.

There are accidents, eavesdropping, secrets and plenty of mysterious happenings right from the start of the trip. It seems like each of the crew members have something to hide.  Especially, Ethan.  Why is this intense, workaholic entrepreneur on this sailing trip? From the moment Tara and Ethan meet, they have a connection. They can’t keep their eyes or hands off one another. But Ethan makes it clear he doesn't do relationships. So instead they decide to make the most of the three weeks they have together.

This was a quick, easy read that I enjoyed.  I just wish that Tara and Ethan’s relationship had been developed a little bit more.  They were so quick to fall for one another.  It almost felt like he knew her or things about her.  So I'm left wondering if there are major things we don't know.  There are so many questions that I need answered, which makes me eager for the next installment. What does the armed robbery have to do with the story?  Who the heck is Justine and how does she fit in?!?! It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Ethan Williams is the worst man for me. The dangerous choice. The choice most likely to hurt me. Ethan will never give me the long-term happiness I yearn for.

Of course I choose him. He’s the bigger risk. The man I know very little about. The man who’s almost guaranteed me that he’ll do nothing but hurt me. That’s the one I want.

What the hell is wrong with me?

I was falling in love with Ethan—even though he was going to walk away from me forever in less than three weeks. But I wasn’t going to think about that. I’d enjoy this time we had together on the open ocean, then, once we got to Hawaii, I’d let him go. No regrets.

But Ethan’s secrets were deeper and darker than I could have ever imagined. I’d put my trust into someone who gave me almost nothing of himself.

And if I wasn’t careful, his secrets could kill me.

Volume two picks up right where one ended, but with even more suspense and some serious shockers!

The sailing trip from L.A. to Hawaii has turned into somewhat of a nightmare for Tara. Strange things keep happening and it's left her unsure of who she can trust. Things have been awkward with her best friend Kyle since his startling revelation and Ethan, the guy she is seriously falling for, still seems to be hiding something. He's everything she wants and always seems to be there to protect her, so why shouldn't she trust him?

There were so many things that took me by surprise, especially the ending! I had to pick up the next book immediately. The writing was great and the chemistry between Ethan and Tara was pretty fierce. This is so much more than just a romance, it's full of suspense and Justine definitely adds a creep factor to the story. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

It’s yet another bomb. The past week has been full of them, exploding when least suspected. This one, though…this one shatters me. Like all the other bombs have combined into one nuclear missile, and Ethan has just rammed it into my chest.

Survival was what should’ve been foremost on my mind. But Ethan’s lies consumed me instead. I trusted him, and the devastation of his betrayal cut so deep, I was surprised I wasn’t bleeding.

MrsNorthman's Review
There have been so many unanswered questions along the way and now everything is starting to come together.

Ethan, in shock, after what him and Tara went through, dropped a major bomb at the end of the last volume. He's been keeping a pretty big secret from Tara. Something that she might not be able to look past. It played into one of her biggest insecurities and had the potential to ruin everything, but somehow she was still able to let it go. I don't know if I could do it, but maybe he's worth it.

This part of the story didn't have as much action as the first two, but I still really liked it. This volume was more about Ethan and Tara spending time together and trying to figure out if they have a future. From the beginning, Ethan made it clear that Tara shouldn't expect their relationship to last beyond the few weeks they would have together in Hawaii after the sailing trip. But, things changed and now that everything is out in the open, he wants all of her. Is it a mistake for her to put her trust in him, again? It seems so! We are left with another major cliffhanger!

The thrilling conclusion to the Swept Away series!

Ethan has dropped his final bomb, and I’m done. I’m finished. I can’t do this anymore.

I had no idea of the danger I was stepping into. That she was one step ahead of me at every turn. And that I was about to be in a desperate fight for my life.

MrsNorthman's Review
This is the final volume of the four part serial. Things start off a little rocky, once again, for Tara and Ethan.

I wasn't very happy with him at the end of the last volume. After gaining Tara's trust back and convincing her he wants a relationship after Hawaii, he goes and does that? It didn't make sense and I wasn't buying his excuse, at all. She forgave him way too easily, in my opinion. I was disappointed with Tara for some many reasons in this part of the story. She's been through so much, but still was so easy to trust and forget. She put herself in some bad situations as well.

There have been bits and pieces of the story told in Justine's POV from the beginning. It wasn't really clear at first how she fit in into the story, but she has only gotten creepier along the way. She plays a pretty prominent part in this final installment and adds a lot of crazy to the story. I was left wanting more though. I wanted a big confrontation with her and Ethan or for her to give some type of explanation to Tara. Instead, it fell a little flat for me.

Overall, I really enjoyed all four parts of this serial. The author's writing really pulled me into the story and wouldn't let go. I was sitting on the edge of my seat dying to know how it was all going to play out. So well written, with great chemistry and tons of intrigue. I will definitely be checking out this author's other books.
