Sophie Richards is guarding her heart. She lost her first love five years ago and she has never truly moved on. At the insistence of her best friend she goes on a blind date with her best friend's boyfriend's partner, Brett.

Brett Nicholson is surprised to receive a phone call from Sophie inviting him to a concert. He's more surprised about agreeing to go out with her. Shockingly, they realized they have great chemistry. Soon, he wants more. He wants them to continue building a relationship together. Yet, Brett doesn't understand what's holding her up from doing the same.

I was very excited to read this book. The beginning of it got me intrigued. However, some of the choices Sophie made through the book had me shaking my head. I couldn't understand why she was treating Brett that way.  I thought Brett was very understanding and a great guy despite Sophie hurting him with her silence. Her indecision to move on took away some of her likability.  Brett did surprise me with his ultimatum. I want to say I understand why he did it but I felt it was completely out of character for him.

“I want you to want me more than anyone else in the world. I want to be the first person you think of in the morning, and the last person you think of when you fall asleep. I want to be the man of your dreams. You’re already the girl of mine.”
