   Excerpts
Unlocking the door and swinging it open, I realized I should have hoped a little harder. Talon stood there looking spunky in dark jeans, a black tee, and motorcycle boots. His hair looked wet from a recent shower, and I wondered if I could blow-dry it for him with my mouth. My traitorous heart leaped, my body tingled, and...what the frig? How'd my underwear get wet already? Wait, had I peed myself? I looked down at the floor. Nope, wasn't wet. That meant only one thing. “I need to get laid or break out my Gold Finger on maximum speed.” Deanna burst out laughing, and Talon seemed smug. I looked at them both confused. Oh, hell no. I did not just say that aloud. See! Drinks, Talon, and me. It was a no-go!

Infinite Possibilities (The Secret Life of Amy Bensen #2) by Lisa Renee Jones

Infinite Possibilities starts where Escaping Reality ends.
Poor Amy is back on the run. She doesn't know who she can trust. She believes Liam has lied to her.
Escaping is not easy when you don't know who are you escaping from. She makes the decision to leave town and work in road side dinners. She transports herself in not the safest way.
However, Liam has money and soon he is able to catch her. Amy wants to trust him, she loves him but so many years on the run has taught her to mistrust and disappear.
Thankfully, Liam is persistent and little by little he breaks down her walls.
Can Amy trust Liam or will she trust her enemies instead?

I love Escaping Reality. Lisa has become one of my to-go authors.  I love everything she writes and this book didn't disappoint me. If anything I thought the last chapter was too short.
There is tons of action and twists in this one but the most important thing is that Liam is in it. I really liked Liam.
The next book is not about them but I can't wait to read it because of who is in it.

"You had so many reasons to fail in life and yet you became such an amazing person. I'm going to fight like you did. For me and for us." I sink down to my knees in front of him. "I am," I say, spreading my hand over his tattoo, "infinitely yours, Liam Stone."

Concrete Moon

This is a YA paranormal fantasy novella.  The premise of the story is that there are two types of supernaturals. One kind is called the Keepers, the other the Hunters.
Jack is part of the good guys the Keepers.
Jack has lost too much in the fight between these two groups and he may loose more if he doesn't save Ashlyn.

Ashlyn is a young woman who travels to Europe to meet a friend.  The last thing she expected is to stumble into a supernatural war. Her life is in danger and in order to survive she will need to trust Jack.

I read the 36 page story in a very short time.  It was still enough to intrigue me.  I was left with so many questions about both entities and their abilities. What role does Ashlyn play into all of this?
The one thing I know is that I like Jack.

Underground fighter Remington Tate is a mystery, even to himself. His mind is dark and light, complex and enlightening. At times his actions and moods are carefully measured, and at others, they spin out of control.

Through it all, there's been one constant: wanting, needing, loving, and protecting Brooke Dumas. This is his story; from the first moment he laid eyes on her and knew, without a doubt, she would be the realest thing he's ever had to fight for.

Review

Remy is back!!
This is Remy and Brooke's story told the way Remy remembers it.

It starts with their wedding day and immediately goes back to the past. We meet our underground fighter Remington Tate and the first time he lays eyes on Brooke Dumas.  We feel his attraction towards her. When their eyes meet he is done. There will be no other woman for him. He will do whatever he has to, to have her in his life. The book switches from past to future. So many scenes are relived through Remy's eyes. One of my favorite scenes is when he discovers Brooke is pregnant and she tells him to stay blue and he remembers it.

I love Remy, I think he is a great character and I think he has survived the best way he can with his disease. It's sad that his real family couldn't love him the way he needed it but now he is surrounded by people that care for him deeply and do whatever is necessary to protect him from the world and from himself.

I'm a fan of Remy and I'm glad he is happy. Thanks Katy Evans for giving us this Real treat.

“Pete, you think I need a sports rehab specialist?” I ask.
“No, Rem.”
“Why not?”
“You’re an asshole, dude. You hardly let the masseuses massage you for more than twenty minutes.”
“I need one now.” Pushing my iPad over to him, I tap the screen and signal to the name below her image. “I need that one.”
Pete lifts an interested eyebrow. “You do. Do you?”
“I need a sports rehab specialist on my payroll. I want her to tend to me every day. In whatever ways they do.”
He smirks. “They don’t do blow jobs, I’ll tell you that.”
“If I wanted a blow job, I could have had three just now. What I want . . .” Once again, my finger taps over her name. “Is this sports rehab specialist.”
Pete’s eyebrows fly up to his hairline, and he leans back and crosses his arms. “What exactly do you want her for?”
I chomp down the rest of my food, then take a long gulp of water so I can speak. “I want her for me.”
“Rem . . .” he says in warning.
“Offer her a salary she can’t decline.”
Pete answers me with a puzzled silence. He seems taken aback and is trying to make sense of me. He’s looking into my eyes, and I can tell he’s observing whether they are black or blue.
I’m not black. So I wait quietly. He sighs, slowly jots down her name, and speaks cautiously. “All right, Remington, but let me say, this has Bad Idea written all over it.”
Shoving my plate aside, I lean back and cross my arms.
My head betrays me half the time. One day, it tells me I am god. The other, it tells me that I not only rule hell, but I invented it. Does Pete think I give one fuck about what his own head thinks about my idea? I don’t listen to my head anymore. I listen only to my gut.
“I want her watching me fight Saturday,” I remind him as I get up and shove my chair back under the table. And I want her watching from the bet seats in the house.”
“Remington . . .”
“Just do it, Pete,” I say as I cross the living room back to the master.
“I already have the tickets ready to go, dude, but it’s hard enough keeping Diane from knowing of your . . . er, issues . . . It’s going to be even harder to keep it from someone like this sports rehab specialist.”
I prop my shoulder at the threshold of my bedroom and think about that. I lower my voice. “Make her sign a contract, so I have guaranteed time with her. And stabilize me the instant I start losing my shit.”
“Remington, just let me get some other girls—”
“No, Pete. No other girls.”
I shut myself in my room and grab my headphones, then just lie there with my iPod in my hand, staring at it.
What will it be like if I make her mine?
I don’t delude myself into thinking that she will accept me, but what if she does? What if she can understand me? The way I am? The two parts of me? No. Not two parts. Every. Single. Fucking. Part. Of me.
My gut tightens as I remember the way her eyes shone when she looked at me. The way they softened after I kissed her and she looked into my eyes, wanting more of me.
I have never seen a look quite like that before. I have been wanted by thousands of women. Nobody has ever looked at me with such open, frightened longing as her.
She was not frightened of me. She was frightened of “it.” This same thing clenching my gut that has me all tangled up. Every cell in my body is buzzing with awareness. Every inch of my skin is awake. My muscles feel primed like they do when I’m ready to fight. Except I’m not ready to fight now. I’m ready to go get my mate.
God help her.

More Than Her (More #2) by Jay McLean

Logan Matthews has never been in love but that is about to change.
Logan is smart (he will be studying pre-med), plays baseball, he is hot and he is a good friend.  He is loyal to a fault and you can count on him when you need him. He hasn't had the best life until he was eight. He can't forget what happened to him but he also doesn't broadcast it. When he meets Amanda, his universe tilts a little.  He is shaken by this new girl and he will do anything to go out with her. Of course, Amanda doesn't want anything to do with a player. Her life is too busy to add Logan to the mix.

"You're just saying that because you want to get layooked."

Fate keeps on placing them together at the right time and at the right place but Logan makes a huge mistake and they both will pay for it.
Fast forward a year and when they meet again. Logan knows exactly what he wants or more precisely whom he wants. He really tries to get to Amanda and get her forgiveness but Amanda is protecting herself from more heartache.  Can they overcome past mistakes? Can she be his More?

"what? That maybe your more than like her?"

In More Than This, we met Logan Matthews. Bestie of The Jake Andrews. Logan got my attention and I wanted to read his story. I just didn't think it was going to hurt me to read it. Logan is confused about his feelings for Amanda and he messes up big time. He knows there is a spark between them but by the time he realizes it, it's too late.
The story at the beginning of the book is told at times from the past then we are back to the present. It shows how Logan made the wrong choice and then we get to read how Cam fixes it. (I should point out that I LOVE Cam and I can't wait for Cam and Lucy's love story).

"To the best guy I know that I'm not screwing."

Amanda was a strong character and at times my heart broke for her. Her relationship with her brother is another thing I like.  (Jay, I'm begin you to write Ethan's story. Make sure Kellie with an I E is gone).
Jay makes you laugh, makes you cry, makes you fall in love.
That's the thing about Jay Mclean, she makes these characters real for me. I want to be friends with them.  I want to help them when they need support. And let's not forget how awesome the parents are in her books. Logan's dad deserves happiness too. This awesome dad should not be alone through life.

"Logan: I need your help.
Dad: Anything."

Now, let's talk about cliffhangers. If you have read my reviews in the past, you know I hate them but I was forewarned about it so it didn't hit me too hard. I still feel bad because I want Logan and Amanda to be happy now.  Although spring is not too far.  SAD FACE EMOTICON.

Jay, this one is another winner.

"Because you and me we're going to be amazing."

Disclosure of the Heart by Mary Whitney Blog Tour and Giveaway

Disclosure of the Heart
by Mary Whitney
Hosted by: Bare Naked Words
Sixteen years is a long time to wait for your true love to reappear, and, anyway, Nicki Johnson couldn’t wait for the impossible to happen. Hard life lessons have taught her that fairy tales are children’s stories, and fate is cruel. Burying her hopes, she’s spent the last sixteen years focused and driven toward her career, and it’s landed her with a job at the White House with a gem of a boyfriend. But when her high school love, Adam Kincaid, walks into the White House as a BBC reporter, Nicki’s world is thrown into turmoil as she relives their past. Adam has come back for her, but has he arrived too late?

Excerpt
“I’ve been meaning to tell you something.” I leaned against the doorjamb and crossed my arms, hoping to signal that if I didn’t sit down, it wasn’t worth a real discussion.
“What’s that?”
“Just that I knew Adam Kincaid in high school.”
Smiling, Matt cocked his head and leaned back in his seat, giving his belly a wide berth from the desk. “Adam with the BBC? How did that happen? I thought you went to high school in Texas.”
“I did.”
“Was he an exchange student or something?”
“No. His dad is a geologist and worked for a year in Houston for an oil company.”
“Wow, what a coincidence. Were you friends?”
It was the logical question, but I wanted to laugh. Adam wasn’t my friend. We were never friends. If he’d been my friend, I would’ve stayed in touch with him over the years. But if I told Matt no, I’d lead him completely astray. I had to at least disclose there had been something romantic between Adam and me.
I shrugged. “We went out…a few times.”
As soon as I said it, I kicked myself. I shouldn’t have added “a few times.” I’d just lied to my boss. Yet if I left it open, he could probe more. How could I tell him anything else? I never talked with anyone about Adam.
Matt placed his hands behind his head like he always did when he wanted to enjoy a juicy story. He snickered and asked, “So you kissed him?”
What a question. What hadn’t I done with Adam? Hoping a joke would make everything feel less like a lie, I smiled and said, “Maybe.”
That brought out Matt’s big belly laugh. Thank God for sexual harassment laws because he didn’t press me on the issue and instead moved on. “So did you keep in touch after he left?”
“No, but I’ve kept up with his sister, Sylvia.” I took a deep breath, happy I was back in the land of the complete truth. “She lives in New York.”
His tone became more serious. “I suppose I should ask if you plan on striking up something romantic with him again.”
“Uh, no.” My response was immediate and without forethought. I was pleased of that. Though I wasn’t proud of the twinge of regret I felt after I’d said it.
“Just asking. You know it’s my job to look out for that sort of thing,” he said, looking at his watch. “I need to get going. Thanks for letting me know. I don’t see it as a problem.”
“Thanks. Have a good night.”
“You, too.”
I turned around, feeling like I’d gotten away with murder but happy for it all the same. Yet just as I took a few steps away, I heard him say, “Oh, Nicole.”
“Yeah?” I asked, looking over my shoulder.
Matt wore his most devilish grin. “Have you told Juan Carlos?”
I froze at the thought, but somewhere I found a smile to fake for the moment. The best thing to do when you don’t want to answer a question is change the subject. I rolled my eyes and said, “I gotta’ go. I need to catch my train.”

But Matt knew me too well. As I walked away, I heard him laugh. “I didn’t think so.” A few seconds lapsed, and he called from his office, “You know what they say about jealous Latin men!”
